EPO and Argentina sign co-operation agreement

EPO President Benoît Battistelli and Institute of Industrial Property of Argentina (INPI) President Dámaso Pardo have signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral co-operation. This agreement expects mutual activity for both patent office including patent procedures, search, examination and automation, as well as use and exchange of patent data and databases.

EPO President Benoît Battistelli said that they are happy to collaborate with the National Institute of Industrial Property. This agreement will be a win-win situation for companies and researchers in both the regions, as well as two offices.

Institute of Industrial Property of Argentina (INPI) President Dámaso Pardo said that they are also happy to sign a bilateral co-operation agreement with the EPO. This will able to provide a high-quality training program to patent examiners in order to improve and strengthen our IP system, boosting innovation and economic growth in Argentina.

And also they discussed about Cooperative Patent Classification system, Patent Prosecution Highway program for accelerated treatment of applications, and the use of tools such as the EPO’s professional search tool EPOQUE Net.
