Lawsuit Settlement: Nokia’s $2 billion Smile

Image result for nokia nsn alcatel lucentThe lawsuit between Nokia and Apple began last year. Nokia accused the Apple of infringing some of Nokia’s patents as well as patents from NSN and Alcatel-Lucent and their respective patent portfolios.

Apple infringes the Nokia’s patents related to software, video coding, chipsets, display, UI and antenna. Because of fight between these two companies, the Apple removed Withings’ products from its stores – Withings is a division of Nokia.

Nokia and Apple quickly reached an agreement and Apple is paying Nokia to help them when it comes to digital health, optical network and IP routing. And also Nokia announced that it has received $2 billion upfront (that too jus for the quarter) cash payment from Apple.
